Pattaya became well known since the Vietnam War when the US army came to rent the bungalow of chief Yotsuntorn to relax on Pattaya beach in BE 2502 by rotating every weekend. From a small quiet fisherman village, Pattaya became well known and a tourist attraction with world reputation. This rapid growth led to the management of “Pattaya city” since BE 2520 with the special governance in the form of “City Manager”
Pattaya beach is a curve beach in Pattaya with approximately 3 kms length. It is a beach with beachside road full with various types of trees. The north beach is rather quiet where the tourists usually go swimming, relax or play water sports while the middle to the south part of the beach is an area full of businesses such as food and beverages, shopping malls, souvenir shops as well as other entertainment places.
