The Institute of Marine Science was originally the Marine Animal Museum established in BE 2512. Later in BE 2523, it received a financial support of 230 million baht from the Japanese Government and there for expanded its scope and was promoted to be the Institute of Marine Science. Five years later, the institute arranged an area for tourists including marine animal farm and the Museum of Marine Science.

The first thing you will get is the feeling of being under the sea which is truly amazing.There are various kinds of fish. Some of which you have never seen. Many groups of students came to visit and to gain useful knowledge. Taking the children to see and learn about marine animals which mostly are now in less number or even extinct will teach them how to preserve these animals and how valuable these animals are.

Opening time The Institute of Marine Science is open to the public every day except Monday. The working day opening time is 08.30-16.30 and holiday from 08.30-17.00.

Location It is located on the road to Bang Sean about 1.5 kms from the intersection you will see the institute on the left hand side or you can take the orange bus from Bang Sean beach and get off in front of the institute and the fare is 5 baht. The institute is part of Burapa university and is very convenient with many parking spaces.
